Analyzer Reliability Engineer 



The primary responsibilities of this role, Analyzer Reliability Engineer, are to:


  • Assist with the development and guidance of analyzer maintenance technicians (Analyzer Crew);
  • Become a plant technical and maintenance expert resource for the process analytical instruments currently in service;
  • Design, install and maintain Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS);
  • Interface with the environmental department and process control systems engineer to develop and maintain the necessary CEMS air permit compliance reporting documentation for the site;
  • Design, install and maintain Ambient Continuous Air Monitoring Systems (ACAMS);
  • Interface with the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Department to develop and maintain the necessary ACAMS IH compliance reporting documentation for the site;
  • Demonstrate potential to serve as radiation safety officer for the Luling site;
  • Assist with leading the plant Radiation Safety programs;
  • Provide support to the site Radiation Safety Program to maintain the necessary documentation records and training for Radiation and Laser Safety program compliance;
  • Interface with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality during Radiation Program compliance inspection audits;
  • Lead, develop, and maintain Process Analyzer and Sample Systems designs, standards, documentation, and training;
  • Set long term goals as it relates to the advancement of Process Analyzer technology within the site;
  • Provide process analyzer support expertise for the site and corporate level capital projects;
  • Manage the long-term reliability efforts for the site process analyzer systems;
  • Work with Process Engineering to implement measurement and control strategies that meet the needs of the business;
  • Manage the proper turnover of implemented measurement and control strategies to the customer, this includes proper documentation and training of area personnel and follow-up development;
  • Develop optimization and improvement strategies based on systems analysis and performance metrics;
  • Support the implementation of reliability improvement projects;
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on major equipment failures;
  • Track cost savings associated with Continuous Improvement efforts;
  • Provide work direction and leadership to Reliability Technicians;
  • Assist with the sitewide AMS systems in Luling.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or Master of Science in Engineering with at least seven years of experience in engineering;
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse a team composed of fellow engineers, operations personnel, maintenance personnel, and leadership;
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written;
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to perform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders;
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Strong Safety ethic.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Six Sigma experience;
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment;
  • Familiarity with Processor Laboratory Instrumentation.
