Regional Head of Production - Vegetable Seeds (1901769) - Parma, ID

 

Withinthe specified region, this position is responsible to implement and monitor theexecution of the assigned production plan in order to ensure delivery ofrequested quantity and quality of seed is met in a timely fashion and on aneconomical sound basis.

 

Where the ChemistryHappens...  

Utilize yourBachelors' or Masters' degree in Agronomy or related field

Seven years' experience in seed production;with a strong knowledge of growing practices of assigned crops

Minimum twoyears' experience in a managerial capacity.

Familiarity with production researchpractices and field plot techniques;

We are lookingfor a Team player; with excellent communication skills, who works well withothers and has outstanding managerial capacities

Proven leadershipskills

Computercompetent; Microsoft Word, Excel

Responsible tomaintain or adapt the region's seed production infrastructure (3rd parties,growers or own farming) in order to realize requested quantity and quality ofseeds.

Adequateexecution in an economical sound fashion of the production orders in order tomeet the requested quantities and quality in seed requested from the GlobalProduction Managers in a timely manner.

Based on thecrops' strategic plan develop proposals on how to develop the region'sinfrastructure in the long-term in order to ensure the capacity, efficiency andreliability of our seed production in the region.

Develop, improveand implement, in concert with Seed Production Research, the Quality Assurancedepartment and the Global Production Manager, new production technology in theregion's crop management in order to increase the reliability and quality ofyields.

In coordinationwith the Quality Assurance department to ensure all incoming lots meet companyquality standards by monitoring crop inspection reports and collecting fielddata including rouging reports.

Monitor &review quality in all aspects of the growing crop including the supervision offield isolation, crop rotation, chemical application, and harvesting ofproduction in order to ensure seed health.

Advise the Global Head of Production on theCAPEX, OPEX and FTE planning needed to maintain the regional productioninfrastructure to meet the production and inventory goals of the company.

Execute and monitor the CAPEX, OPEX and HCbudget; propose actions to maintain efficiency and financial compliance. Manage, direct,and coordinate the personnel flow within the department, including appraisal,training and development and career planning by using HR instruments,guidelines, procedures and advice in order to select and maintain competentemployees and ensure an efficient and effective functioning department
