Come join us on our journey to create solutions for asustainable future Project Engineer (1900844) - Geismar, LA Wherethe Chemistry Happens We are seeking aprofessional like you to service the technical support needs for a linkedregional site. You will be responsible for providing project engineering/managementin assigned plant areas to assure proper design, procurement, and constructionof capital and expense projects (usually <%2415M) per regulatory and BASFstandards. This role will require up to 10% regular travel schedule tosupport the business.Formulafor Success
Leveraging yourbachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) and professional engineering experience in a chemical/ petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment (preferably in a ProjectEngineering role), you will develop projectscopes, generate and obtain cost estimates, and prepare appropriation fundingrequests. Additionally, you will ensure appropriate project safety reviews arecompleted as required, both before and after approval, and utilize applicableValue- Based Engineering practices (VBEs) to optimize project scope, schedule,and costs.
Successfullyengaging across the organization, you will develop, establish, and maintainpartnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to executeprojects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering andprocurement, to startup and commissioning, and final documentation and closure.
As a leader ofproject teams, you will request and coordinate required process and disciplineengineering and design resources, whether from the site, corporate groups oroutside engineering vendors, to prepare engineering design deliverables andprocure equipment, fabricated materials, and services.
Demonstratingyour computer proficiency, including experience using SAP project functions,you will maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress throughscheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and controlspending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
Your broadknowledge of chemical unit operations will be a valued asset as you ensurecompliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promotea safe working environment for project execution. Additionally, you will adhere to currentcorporate and plant requirements for equipment/materials specifications andvendor preferences.
