About the Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing hands-on supervision and direction for Warehouse operations supporting 700 tons of 20 kg bagged flour per day. The position directly reports to the Plant Manager and works closely with Plant Superintendent to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable daily operations.

The Supervisor will spend significant time on the production floor leading and supporting employees, monitoring operations, addressing issues, and identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and customer service. The role also requires working knowledge of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including the ability to troubleshoot system issues and ensure accurate inventory, production, receiving, and shipping transactions.

This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet time-sensitive deadlines, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with plant leadership, employees, customers, transportation, purchasing, production scheduling, off-site warehousing partners, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for approximately 15-20 hourly unionized employees across Mix, Packaging, and Warehouse operations, including scheduling, training, coaching, and development.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with ADM policies, work rules, food safety, quality, sanitation, housekeeping, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor daily operations to achieve production, quality, yield, efficiency, productivity, and customer requirements while maintaining a hands-on presence on the production floor.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, Sales, Transportation, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, Milling Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to support production and operational needs.
  • Utilize and troubleshoot the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage inventory, receiving, production, and shipping activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor equipment and process performance, partnering with Maintenance to address issues, minimize downtime, and support preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, inventory accuracy, and waste reduction.
  • Support labor relations and communicate effectively with employees, plant leadership, customers, auditors, off-site warehousing partners, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Complete required reporting and documentation accurately and on time while demonstrating ADM Core Values and promoting accountability, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and develop employees.
  • Working knowledge of Mix, Packaging, and Warehouse operations, including dry ingredient handling, mixing, packaging, conveying, palletizing, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including the ability to identify and troubleshoot system and transaction issues.
  • Strong understanding of safety, food safety, quality, sanitation, and operational requirements in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of equipment operation, changeovers, process controls, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of applicable food manufacturing standards and regulations, including CFIA, HACCP, BRC, GMP, and sanitation practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and safely operate in a plant environment requiring PPE, extended walking and standing, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Food Science, Food Technology, Operations, Supply Chain, Warehousing, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, production, packaging, warehousing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with dry ingredients, dry mixes, flour milling, packaging, or warehousing is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
