These are full time, exempt level positions.

Position Summary:
We are looking for high potential individuals ready to take on challenges and responsibilities at our Ama, Destrehan, or Reserve, Louisiana, grain export facilities for the following positions:

Job Responsibilities:

Barge Receiving Supervisor
  • Bin barge/rail into appropriate bins based on commodity and grades
  • Accurately maintain inventory system
  • Accurately weigh barge/railcar unloads
  • Complete all associated documentation of unloading process in a timely manner
  • Maintain communication with associated barge/rail lines in order to have product delivered and pulled in a timely basis
Ship Supervisor
  • Must possess the ability to multi task supervision of barge unloading / ship loading
  • Start/stop/ and monitor all equipment used in operations
  • Blend grain (Wheat, Sorghum, Corn, Soybeans, etc.) to meet specific load order requirements
  • Accurately weigh sub lots that will be loaded on the vessel
  • Complete all associated documentation of the loading process in a timely manner (i.e. status, inventory)
  • Maintain communication with FGIS and TSI stevedores to ensure grain is loaded into accurate stowage holds and grade factors are within contract specs.

Operations Supervisor
  • Assist in scheduling of operations for the hourly staff
  • Communicate operational procedures to hourly workforce
  • Implement and enforce company programs, policies and procedures
  • Ensure all colleagues are conducting operations safely and efficiently throughout each shift
  • Contribute to the development of goals\\operational procedures for the department and plant
  • Perform daily facility walkthroughs and supervise hourly work staff on the daily progress
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections and document results on computer based programs
  • Train colleagues to become proficient at jobs and tasks at the facility and sign off on performance qualifications
  • Coordinate with Shift Supervisor and Grain Superintendent to develop a safe and efficient daily work plan for hourly staff on a shift basis

Other potential assignments may include, but are not limited to:
  • Works under supervision of Grain, Maintenance, or Assistant Superintendent
  • Must possess the ability to multitask (supervise barge unloading/ship loading)
  • Start/stop/ and monitor all equipment used in operations
  • Learn FGIS grain grading factors and requirements for all commodities to be loaded
  • Supervision of Area housekeeping and cleaning of equipment and buildings
  • Supervision/assist operations personnel, maintenance personnel and supervisors as needed
  • Supervision/assist work related to barge/rail production
  • Assist with grain handling
  • Movement and operation of forklift, tractor, sweeper, gator and locomotive
  • Retrieve Bin Soundings and assist with Bin Deck operations

All Supervisor Job Requirements:

To be considered for any of these opportunities, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Exhibit regular and timely attendance
  • Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc), lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, shovel material and operate a vacuum
  • Willing to work 12 hr. shift work ( weekends, holidays) or rotating shifts with overtime as needed
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
  • Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude
  • Strong understanding of computers (including Microsoft Word and Excel), math comprehension and previous plant environment experience is preferred
  • Excellent oral/communications skills
  • Leadership characteristics, able to motivate others and demonstrate team building skills
  • Dedicated involvement in safety
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Able to obtain and possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) is a requirement per Homeland Security to access secure areas

Maintenance Supervisor
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring proper execution of scheduled maintenance work as planned by the Maintenance Superintendent
  • Supervises the day to day activities of maintenance mechanics and electricians
  • Insures that all PPE and GMP rules are being followed while work is being performed
  • Work with production to prioritize required repair work and to insure that the procedures for monitoring equipment meet the needs of the company.
  • Coach employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety and other related appraisal criteria
  • Uses Maximo and other computer systems to maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance information
  • Monitor work accomplished for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and GMPs against accepted department and company standards
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
  • Other similar duties as assigned

Minimum Maintenance Job Requirements:
  • Must be able to establish expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service and productivity
  • Good decision making ability and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership experience and ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong demonstrated expertise in either mechanical or electrical maintenance, with in-depth exposure to the other areas (mechanical or I&E maintenance)
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred
