Stevedore Leadperson- Ama, LA
This is a full-time hourly position

Position Summary

The person is responsible for the loading of sea going vessels and barges, coordinate the loading, of the vessel, with the elevator management and the vessel crew, have good communication skills, be capable of filing reports which involve math skills, good penmanship, direct employees, inspect equipment, communicate with outside interested parties, be able to operate a forklift and commercial trucks.

Potential assignments may include, but are not limited to:
  • Work within safety
  • Stevedoring and separation building
  • Safety inspections
  • Leading safety meetings
  • Enforcing safety procedures
  • Ensuring all operations and equipment are safely used, installed and stowed properly
  • The ideal candidate will be able to: lift at least 50 pounds; work at various heights; sit, stand, kneel, crawl, and bend in various conditions; work in hot, cold or dusty conditions;
  • Provide high-quality customer service
  • Able to obtain and possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) is a requirement per Homeland Security to access secure areas

Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
