ADM Health & Wellness is looking for an experienced Senior EHS Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environmental and Process Safety activities at our Valencia site.
Working closely with the Plant Manager and wider EMEA and global HSE teams, you will play a key leadership role in building a proactive safety culture, reducing risk and ensuring the site meets all Spanish legislation, ADM standards and regulatory requirements.
The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role where you will act as the site's EHS and Process Safety subject matter expert, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and CAPEX teams to embed safety and environmental excellence across the operation.
You will:
Lead and continuously improve the site's Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with ADM standards and Spanish legislation.
Drive a strong safety culture focused on Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) prevention, Life Critical Standards and proactive risk management.
Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions.
Oversee safety training, emergency preparedness, contractor safety and the Local Health & Safety Committee.
Act as the company's designated employee under Spanish Law 31/1995, working closely with external prevention services and regulatory authorities.
Lead Process Safety activities including HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Ensure ATEX compliance and provide EHS expertise across engineering, maintenance and CAPEX projects.
Lead environmental compliance, including emissions, waste, water, energy and regulatory reporting.
Manage and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 systems.
Lead the Safety pillar within ADM's Performance Excellence programme.
What You'll Bring
Master's degree or equivalent in Health & Safety, Environmental, Process, Chemical, Industrial or Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Recognised Spanish qualification as Tcnico Superior en Prevencin de Riesgos Laborales.
5+ years' EHS experience within an industrial environment; food, beverage, flavours, chemical or pharmaceutical experience is advantageous.
Proven experience leading EHS teams and influencing safety culture within a complex manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Spanish EHS legislation, environmental compliance, chemical risks and ATEX.
Practical experience with Process Safety, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC and incident investigation.
Strong project management experience, ideally including CAPEX and operational improvement projects.
Fluent Spanish and English, with the ability to influence stakeholders in an international, matrix organisation.
