This is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position.
Position Description
ADM is seeking a Principal Advisor in the Asset Management department to join a team focused on developing and deploying an Asset Management System aligned with ISO 55000.
This role will help prioritize, develop, and deploy relevant asset lifecycle process elements to various sites in the three business units.
The Principal Advisor is part of the team that advocates for lifecycle asset management through managing Asset Risk, Cost, and Performance to achieve Reliability and Maintainability objectives, supporting Availability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Focus areas include:
Developing asset management process elements (e.g., Asset Criticality, Work Management, Asset Integrity, Defect Elimination, Operational Readiness) and associated playbooks, process flows, guidance, and tools
Collaborating with sites to deploy process elements, demonstrate results, and ensure programs are sustainable
Supporting development of ADM's asset management governance model, assessment, and guidance
Supporting development of ADM's asset management assurance program aligned with ADM's integrated management system
Collaborating with sites to develop Asset Management Plans
Developing and applying program documentation including
-Context and purpose
-Strategies and plans
-Process flows
-Responsibilities & Accountability charts
-Workshop materials
-Assessments
-Administrative documents
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is passionate about asset management, reliability, and maintenance, and is an effective communicator.
The Principal Advisor will collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, projects, training, safety, risk and other group functions for alignment and delivery.
This role requires proficiency with the creation of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio documents as well as developing and managing PowerBI dashboards and related data files.
The Principal Advisor - Asset Management provides field leadership to implement ADM's Asset Management Framework:
Deploy field assessments for each process element and identify gaps in performance referencing relevant standards and/or benchmarks
Actively assist processing facilities' staff in closing these gaps - requires field work
Develop and deliver kick-off, progress report, and close-out presentations.
Create templates and guidance documents to assist processing facilities' staff in creating asset management strategies and asset management plans, including:
Align policy, objectives and approaches for managing the asset portfolio and systems
Decision-making framework
Objectives and approach to be used to achieve the strategy
Detail time frames relevant to the achievement of the strategy
Identify capabilities needed to achieve the objectives
Develop plans to achieve recommended and agreed objectives:
Activities, resources, timelines required for a business unit or plant (site) to achieve their objectives;
Reference to relevant strategy
Primary Responsibilities
Creates the asset lifecycle process elements as outlined in the Asset Management Framework
Executes assessments at the plant facilities to measure gaps against standards, industry-recognized benchmarks, and ADM's Asset Management Framework
Serves as a resource to implement the asset management processes for the business
Plans deployment
Engages stakeholders
Drives execution
Monitors and reports implementation status
Create benchmark methodology, collect and organize data for use on asset lifecycle process element assessments and deployment reporting
Travel to operating facilities as needed (approximately 25-50%)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other STEM discipline
5+ years' of progressive experience in plant leadership roles with a focus on asset management, engineering, and business improvement
Demonstrated ability to work at a plant facility and provide value
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, ability to pivot when priorities change
Effective communication skills, ability to produce and deliver presentations to senior management
Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
Ability to travel to operating facilities as needed (25-50%)
Preferred Qualifications
CMRP, CRE, PMP or similar certification
5+ years' experience implementing maintenance, reliability or asset management systems, example ISO 55001, PAS 55 or other
Experience with PowerBI
