Mechanic I - Heavy Equipment Maintenance - Camanche, IA This is an hourly position.
ADM is seeking a heavy equipment maintenance for various mid-stream stevedoring rigs based out of our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) location in Camanche, IA.
Complete daily care, service and preventive maintenance; mobile equipment such as excavators, front end loaders, haul trucks and smaller equipment.
Troubleshoot/diagnose problems with and make repairs machinery with minimal assistance
Dismantle and repair heavy equipment,
Move machinery and equipment as needed for diagnoses and repairs
Act as signalman for equipment operators and crane operators when needed and as assigned
Able to use and troubleshoot with a Fluke Multimeter
Assist in rig, ship and barge mooring operations when needed and as assigned
Complete all required trainings
Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely manner
Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Must have a minimum of two years of experience maintaining heavy equipment including, but not limited to track hoes, front end loaders, etc preferred
Basic understanding of diesel and mechanical technology
Basic mathematical skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of tasks
Ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment including, but not limited to, cutting torch, welder, forklift, hand tools, power tools (impact wrench, drills, etc.) and electric meters
Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
Ability to work a flexible schedule; must allow for changes in assignments, and priorities depending upon identified needs of the operations
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Must be able to work in all types of climates
Must have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures
Having own tools is preferred
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, Holidays and be on-call as requested
