Maintenance Mechanic - Des Moines IA Soybean Processing Plant Cogeneration Facility This is an hourly position.
Pay: $21.50 per hour Shift: Day shift Monday through Friday. Call-in work and over time work is required. Shift times rotations are subject to change, depending on plant operational needs.
Position Summary: Maintenance employees perform inspections and mechanical repairs required for a Coal fired Cogeneration plant, with a heavy emphasis on Maintenance Reliability. They use diagnostic testing to detect and prevent equipment failures. Qualified candidates will have a 2 year Technical Degree in a maintenance related field, and/or applicable industrial maintenance experience in turbine, generator, pump, compressor, or high speed rotating equipment related fields. Qualified Candidates could have a technical degree in a mechanical field such as Ag Diesel Mechanics, Auto Mechanics, Auto Body, or Mechatronics.

Applicant must be able to work in all types of weather including extreme temperatures, dusty, and noisy environments with the use of Personal Protective Equipment
Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, climb ladders and stairs, work on their feet, bend, and kneel most of the shift
Must be able to perform work at high elevations within the plant environment
Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as tanks, boilers, and process vessels
Applicant must be able to work in a 'team', as well as have the ability to work independently in an organized safe manner with minimal supervision
Must be capable of using millwright hand and power tools
Experience with and use of technical measuring tools in the millwright trade is desired
Willingness to participate in training to continue developing skills is required
