This is a non-exempt level position.

Position Summary:

Working under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for quality, food safety and verification of conformance to regulatory requirements in support of plant operations. You will provide support to production in making quality decisions, investigation of non-conforming product and providing insight during process upsets. This job offers a 12 hour rotating shift schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and testing of plant process samples
  • Daily calibration of standard lab instruments
  • Recording and interpreting test results
  • Verifying sufficient inventory of testing supplies
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory environment at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas
  • Ability to work alone as well as with others on a team of technicians and technical staff
  • Maintains samples of tested product in order to confirm test results when necessary
  • Maintaining ongoing records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer daily
  • Continually comparing test results with standards as required to ensure specifications are met
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements
  • Proven history of safe work behavior and a sincere enthusiasm to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines
  • Handling various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer's chemical Safety Data Sheet
  • Promoting the ADM Way and Core Values
  • Recommending solutions to correct deficiencies or improve work and operational practices

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a science related discipline or equivalent work experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 50 lbs. on rare occasions
  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Occasional bending, kneeling and climbing stairs
