Summary/Objective The Instrument/Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business goals and objectives.
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility's equipment.
Perform duties to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and monitor production equipment and facility's process control equipment (PLCs, batch controllers, PIDs, 4-20 mA loops).
Work with IT to ensure proper operation of all plant instrumentation.
Establish process control training program and assist in administering the program.
Use test equipment (electrical meters, computers, analyzers) to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair facility and process equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform machinist duties and responsibilities.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, instruments, equipment, and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing, HVAC, boiler and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the Instrument Maintenance Technician is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving parts and vibration. Occasionally, maintenance must be performed in an H3 classified work area, with Ethyl Alcohol being the hazardous chemical of concern. Industrial lift trucks are present and operating in the facility. Maintenance is occasionally performed in elevated working locations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Work platforms, both guarded and unguarded, can reach heights greater than 60'. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Preferred - 1 year of manufacturing experience.
Preferred - Documented Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programing, troubleshooting and repair experience
