The EMEA Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for executing and overseeing Corporate Security standards implementation and deployment of physical security technology and infrastructure across all operational sites, production plants and facility locations within the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will be eager to deploy a methodological, governance driven approach for improving the overall security environment at ADM locations in the region. Specifically we seek to improve aggregate outcomes through the deployment of security infrastructure, technology and policy driven initiatives.
You will ensure that all physical security systems-including CCTV/IP surveillance, access control, perimeter intrusion detection, and alarm systems-are designed, procured, and installed in strict compliance with corporate security standards, local regulations, and operational budgets.
Based in Bucharest - Romania, this role serves as the key technical link between EMEA security governance, local site leadership (Plant & Location Managers), EMEA region procurement, and external engineering contractors. It will be subordinated to EMEA Security Manager.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site security risk assessments and identify physical, procedural, and technological security vulnerabilities.
Engage with site leadership through regular meetings and remote consultations to understand local operational environments, business requirements, and security challenges.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including IT, Operations, Human Resources, Data Protection, Procurement, and other relevant functions.
Oversee and monitor the performance of security contractors, vendors, and service providers through site visits, audits, and remote reviews.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio, tracking the status, progress, risks, and deliverables of all asset protection initiatives.
Establish and maintain a strategic asset protection roadmap covering a 3-5 year horizon, aligned with business priorities and operational requirements.
Prepare and present quarterly reports outlining project status, key achievements, identified risks, roadblocks, budget considerations, and recommended mitigation actions.
Identify opportunities where security and asset protection initiatives can drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions while maintaining appropriate risk controls.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of physical security standards, procedures, and best practices across company locations in the region.
Coordinate the planning and execution of security enhancement projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with company standards.
Provide expert guidance to business units on security risks, mitigation strategies, and asset protection solutions.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including Plant Managers, HR, IT, and Procurement teams.
Problem Solving & Execution: Strong project management discipline with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to field challenges.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in physical security, security systems integration, or security project management within an enterprise or industrial environment.
Education: Education: Bachelor's degree in security management, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant experience in physical security systems, asset protection, risk management, or security project management may be considered equivalent to formal education.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth practical knowledge of enterprise video management systems (VMS-e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon), IP access control systems, perimeter security, and intrusion detection.
Solid understanding of network fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE switches, structured cabling) as applied to physical security infrastructure.
Demonstrate working knowledge of video surveillance systems, including IP-based CCTV platforms, mainly Axis Communications, camera configurations, video management systems (VMS), recording solutions, and security monitoring best practices.
Vendor & Project Management: Proven track record managing external contractors, system integrators across complex multi-site deployment projects.
Languages: Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Romanian and/or additional European languages is an advantage.
Mobility: Willingness to travel across the EMEA region (up to 25-30%) for site assessments, project kick-offs, and final system commissioning.
