The American Society of Agricultural Appraisers (ASAA) is an organization of appraisal professionals specializing in appraising livestock and farm equipment. ASAA's mission is to provide educational and organizational support to its members while serving the public by producing qualified, ethical appraisers who are recognized authorities in the livestock and equipment appraisal fields.

ASAA is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming livestock and/or equipment appraisers. Livestock and equipment appraisers provide valuations for a variety of purposes, including bank financing, litigation, accounting, tax reporting, insurance claims, and government agency appraisals (IRS, USDA, etc.).

To become a qualified agricultural appraiser, individuals must complete ASAA’s Principles of Valuation Home Study Course. This comprehensive training program provides the foundation and education needed to understand appraisal principles, methodology, and industry standards. As a livestock and/or equipment appraiser, you enjoy the stability and flexibility that comes with owning your own business. Please note that you will not work for the American Society of Agricultural Appraisers. Rather, ASAA is the professional organization that provides the education, training, certification, and membership needed to become a qualified agricultural appraiser.

Membership in ASAA is intended for individuals with substantial, hands-on agricultural industry experience and is not designed for hobby or small-scale livestock owners.
