Role Overview:

The Territory Seed Representative's primary role is to grow the seed business in their defined region through leadership and coordination of Seed Sales Representatives and wholesale, helping develop personnel, seed products, and services. This role also represents the assigned region by serving as a member of the Seed Team. Through working closely with key suppliers, the Territory Seed Representative will provide leading seed varieties for the r egional sales teams to position and sell to customers.

A Sample of What You'll Do in this Role:

  • Manage the region's seed sales teams including performance management, salary recommendations, goals and objectives , and day-to-day direction and support .
  • Inspire and motivate sales staff to sell seed services and products .
  • Promote and drive an employee engagement plan with an aligned culture, through clear performance targets, and regular one-on-ones focused on culture, mindset, stakeholder alignment, and conflict resolution .
  • Coordinat e seed treatment sales and identif y potential growth opportunities for the region .
  • Communicat e with r egional management regarding initiatives, objectives , strategies, and action plans .
  • Ensur e accountability for selecting, forecasting, promoting, training , and related activities required to grow the seed business in the region .
  • Provid e overall coordination of the seed business in the region .
  • Assist and participat e in sales calls with salespeople whe n required .
  • Serve as the point person for seed supplier relations in the r egion by facilitating communication, coordination, and support for preferred suppliers .
  • Work with purchasing and supplier relations personnel to i dentify and communicate net profitability for all seed products including program administration and rebate allocation .

  • I nfluenc e , develop , and maintain effective internal/external relationships to facilitate change, with and without authority, and ensur e cohesion across the organization
  • P romote and secure buy-in from a cross-functional leadership team and peer groups within the organization
  • Operate effectively and comfortably with different cultures , in strange and challenging situations, and direct in a respectful and polite manner
  • Extensive knowledge of seed technology including knowledge of regional cropping trends, markets, and crop economics
  • Deep level of industry knowledge and regional seed businesses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to manage communication with and presenting information to all levels of the regions and all key stakeholders
  • N egotiat e competitive positions with seed suppliers and vendors in support of national seed strategy
  • Foster teamwork to achieve goals aligned regionally and nationally including maintaining and directing seed supplier strategy and coordination of local supplier opportunities within the region
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in the seed industry required ( a c ombination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • I n compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $ 82,300 - $ 109,780 . Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience .
  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
