General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Facility Sanitation/Operations Technician will ensure all production equipment, implements, containers, and tools are cleaned and dried properly, keep buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition, and perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning pipes, cleaning tops of pallets, cleaning windows, and completing food safety inspections throughout the facility. The specialist will also support the Operations team in the day-to-day operations.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Thoroughly wash and dry barrels, buckets, scoops, and equipment per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and Food Safety Standards.
  • Follow the Master Cleaning Schedule as necessary. Note deviations on lists/schedules and monitor areas to see if they need to be cleaned less or more frequently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of washroom, clean room, & warehouse areas.
  • Clean and maintain production areas, warehouse, grounds, and equipment as per Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures and ensure food safety.
  • Mix water, detergents, or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for repairs or additional maintenance to building operating systems or structures.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Remove snow, weeds, and trash from outside of all buildings. Perform primary lawn care.
  • Conduct Area Re-Cleans, Corrective Actions, and Audit Prep.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line.
  • Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines, Ameri-Pac work rules, Ameri-Pac Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, and Federal and State workplace laws.


Essential Job Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: None
  • Required Skills: Self-Motivated, Time Management, Ability to work alone and occasionally in teams,
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of cleaning materials, scissor lift, forklift, floor scrubber, power washer, LO/TO , Computer Skills (Email, ERP Systems, Microsoft Applications, Smartsheet's)
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly and pull pallets /climb when necessary. Ability to work in wet and dusty work environment and also ability to brave the outside elements (heat/snow/ice). Ability to work with chemicals that may cause irritation.

Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position is $18.00/hr. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
