CLAAS of America, Inc. is located within the “heart” of the corn and wheat belts of the Midwest. Home of the award winning LEXION combine, the facility in Omaha, NE is one of the most modern in the marketplace. Omaha is the assembly site for North America’s LEXION combines and home to a team of engineers and CLAAS personnel spearheading header and machine development.

 

CLAAS also offers a wide variety of technologically innovative tractor, haytool, baler and self-propelled forage harvester products to provide farmers optimum performance in the field. These products are designed by a dedicated engineering staff at three different worldwide factories that are solely focused on the production and design of harvesting equipment. The design, performance, and reliability of this equipment have made CLAAS a market leader internationally. In fact, the JAGUAR is the most sold self-propelled forage harvester in the world.

    Production

    CLAAS Omaha Production Team Members assemble, test, and repair the LEXION Combine.

    Operations Management

    Operations Management is an area of management concerned with designing and controlling the process of manufacturing a quality products.

    Quality

    The CLAAS Quality Department ensures that everything from the 50,000 parts we use to finished combine, meet the high production standards required to assemble the world’s highest quality combine.

    Logistics

    Our Logistics Team Members use forklifts and pallet jacks to unload truck shipments of materials and parts for the combines. This team is responsible for the shipping and receiving of product and parts and for supplying the production line with the necessary parts to build the machinery.

    Purchasing

    The Purchasing Group is responsible for buying the necessary materials, parts, and services for the machinery produced.

    Accounting and Finance

    The CLAAS Accounting and Finance Department provides accounting services and financial support to the organization.

    Information Technology

    The IT Department provides technical support to keep our computers running and provides network security to keep all of our data safe and free of computer viruses.

    Human Resources

    Human Resources handle the "people" functions of interviewing and hiring, skill development and training, payroll, benefits administration, management coaching, performance management, budgeting, compliance, and safety. Another function is employee relations, which includes helping supervisors with employee issues and helping employees improve their quality of work life. HR people also work on issues such as workforce shortages.

    Engineering

    Engineering is the application of mathematics, economics, science, and practical knowledge used to invent, design, build, and maintain structures, machinery, tools, and systems. Here at CLAAS, we use many types and aspects of engineering. A few include:  Manufacturing Engineering, a practice of dealing with many different manufacturing processes to turn raw materials into a finished product; Design Engineering, which covers many aspects of engineering to include electrical and mechanical components of a machine; and Agricultural Engineering, which combines different engineering aspects and applies it to agricultural machinery and practices. Industrial Engineering finds ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes by devising systems that integrate workers, machines, and information.

    Our North American Headquarters, CLAAS of America (CoA), is also located within our Omaha facility. CoA offers careers in Sales, Service, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Finance. Another CLAAS of America location is found in Columbus, Indiana. This facility features our parts distribution center.

Technical Services at CLAAS includes providing technical “how to” and possible visits to clients’ businesses or homes to repair or install a product.

    The Parts Department is responsible for ensuring the availability of the parts needed to keep our customer’s machines running in the field.
