enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking an IT Master Data Management Analyst at our
Ames, Iowa or Greensboro, North Carolina site. As an MDM Business Analyst you
will:


  • Lead business
    analysis efforts to deliver MDM information capabilities through IT projects
    and other delivery mechanisms working closely with Key Users, Project Managers,
    Solution Architects, and Development teams
  • Provide best
    practice in business value delivery strategies, requirements gathering
    techniques, and user acceptance techniques
Accountabilities
  • Developing deep
    knowledge within MDM including data, people, processes and technologies in use.
  • Creating
    supporting artifacts for the requirements (ERD, process maps, decision models,
    stakeholder maps etc.).
  • Working with
    technical teams in generating and evaluating solution options as well as
    mapping data to business functions and applications.
  • Supporting the
    MDM platform by answering questions and troubleshooting issues.
  • Assessing process
    adherence and quality issues to be proactively addressed before problems arise.
  • Serves as a
    conduit between business community and the technical delivery team.
  • Analyze business
    operations to determine opportunities to automate business processes and
    functions; Define and document project objectives and business requirements to
    be translated into functional specifications for systems development and new
    technology.
  • Critically
    evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
    decompose high-level information into details and abstract up from low-level
    information to a general understanding to discern user needs and key requirements. When appropriate challenge back to business.
  • Proactively
    communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze information
    and business workflow in order to deliver functional requirements, use cases,
    user stories, and user interface designs.
  • Ability to act as
    relationship manager, portfolio manager, or project manager for team as needed.
  • Leading a team of
    business analysts within a program of work.
  • Delivering
    larger, more complicated initiatives across business functions.
  • Mentoring, coaching
    and setting direction for the Global MDM community.
  • Act
    as product owner for applications within the business analysis toolset (JIRA,
    etc.).

RequirementsCritical capabilities:
  • Ability
    to identify and resolve project impacts in a changing environment
  • Be
    a self-starter; proactively collaborate to understand goalsfrom design
    and cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills and capabilities to
    clearly articulate challenges back to customer groups
  • Be comfortable with an iterative process in an agile
    environment
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Strong networking skills across cultures
Critical experience:
  • Experience in an analyst role for multiple
    projects using Agile software development methodologies is a must
  • Experience workingwith a diverse range of
    technologies and platforms, especially with regards to cheminformatics, LIMS,
    integration, data analytics, and reporting. Experience working with
    computational models would be desirable
  • Ability to document existing business process,
    optimize, and deliver real business change to accompany software deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a geographically and
    culturally diverse development effort
Critical knowledge:
  • Good knowledge of
    business analysis methodologies and associated best practices with an analytical mindset. Knowledge of both waterfall and agile
    scrum/kanban methodologies preferred
  • AI invention practices and processes in life
    sciences, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, agricultural practice, chemistry
    logistics or chemistry focused data science would be a plus
