Operations Manager

Centralia, ON

We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to assist in managing the overall performance, maintenance and repair of the grain elevator and will supervise all Elevator Operators at our Centralia location. The Operations Manager will oversee quality control measures on incoming and outgoing shipments and the maintenance and compliance of a safe working environment.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the quality control of the Grain and Crop Inputs businesses Supervising the daily operation of the grain elevator facility Overseeing regular maintenance and repair on facility equipment Supervising Elevator Operators and acting as the primary resource in the movement of grain Overseeing food safety compliance, completion of safety training and related documentation Organizing crop input deliveries Scheduling elevator staff to seasonal needs of the business Working with General Manager on Budgeting RM/capital investment needs for the facility. Working with sales staff to ensure outstanding customer service Maintain accurate inventory

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience in the operation of a grain elevator including shipping/receiving, collecting and grading grain samples, customer service and mechanical repair Knowledge and understanding of threats to storing grain and oilseed Ability to identify common downgrading factors found in cereal grains Demonstrates sound knowledge of elevator equipment Competency in grading corn, beans and wheat Experience working with crop inputs and seed Experience with fertilizer blending and application equipment would be considered an asset AZ/DZ license and experience with heavy trucks would be considered an asset Strong written and verbal communication Accuracy and attention to detail required for record keeping Strong decision-making and problem solving skills Customer service and interpersonal skills Leadership and coaching skills experience Ability to work in a fast paced environment
