The US Truck Dispatcher reports directly to the Senior Truck Coordinator.
What you will do:
Coordinate/Execute daily dispatch of truckload orders out to carriers
Provide rate requests for the commercial team
Ensure delivery of loads in the most economical manner by assisting with rate negotiations, verifying freight rates, and communicating and monitoring service level expectations
Interfacing with customers, vendors and internal employees with respect to freight rate verification and service level expectations.
Verify mileage for truck routing to ensure the most economical routing is being utilized
Communicate regularly with our carriers to build strong working relationships
Develop and maintain carrier files, to include valid insurance requirements, valid carrier agreements, safety records, and service issues
Other administrative duties as assigned by the supply chain group
What you will bring:
Minimum high school diploma with valid work experience, or bachelor's degree
1+ years transportation experience preferred
Experience with the US trucking industry (DOT regulations) an asset
Ability to think strategically and to translate that into tactical action
Solid communicator and team player, with good negotiating skills
High attention to detail
Desire to be accountable for results
Working knowledge of SAP would be considered a definite asset
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
