Under the direction  of the Sr. Manager, HRBP, the Sr. Advisor provides, professional consultation on employee relations, site recruitment, benefts programs, talent management, labor relations, and employee disciplinary issues to Leadership and employees.  This role supports activities related to negotiating, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to the White Springs collective bargaining agreement.
What you will do:
  • Provides support on general human resources related items such as recruiting and onboarding, exit interviews and terminations, employee relations, absence management, compensation and benefits, and performance management in conjunction with the Center of Excellence and the HR Shared Service Center for all employees at the White Springs site
  • Administers and conducts activity in regard to the HRIS Bid/Roll tool utilized at the White Springs site. Reviews for accuracy and advises on findings to leadership
  • Maintains a working relationship with union officials and ensures consistent compliance to the terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation and administration of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions
  • Advises, under the direction of the Sr. Manager, HRBP, employees regarding Company policy and collective bargaining application interpretation and ensures proper and consistent application
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations for hourly employees and ensures the evaluations are timely completed in accordance with the probationary period check in points
  • Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued to employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism records as defined in the the White Springs CBA. Administers, evaluates and edits documentation including grievances and responses, disciplinary actions and manages and tracks each disciplinary action issued
  • Represents management in investigating, answering and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between the union and leadership
  • Directly participates in labor negotiations and serves as a secondary point-of-contact for the Sr. Manager, HRBP to assist with raised concerns and problem resolution as it relates to the White Springs CBA.
  • Develops and conducts or participates in specialized presentations and training, covering operational and/or technical HR-related information for all White Springs employees
  • Determines, gathers, and analyzes evidentiary information necessary to evaluate compliance issues for various areas in HR
  • Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives for the site HR department in alignment with higher level goals in the organization
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of the site HR department in relation to established goals and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Prepares and presents on necessary topics as requested by the business and provides required and specialized reports as necessary
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Reconciles HR department budget and presents to Sr. Manager, HRBP each month
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs as needed
What you will bring:
  • 6+ years in a Human Resources generalist role within a union environment and background in employment law and other government compliance regulations
  • A bachelor’s degree with a Human Resources focus is desirable
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus
  • Experience working in SAP is a plus
