As the Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Digital team within Nutrien Ag Solutions - the Retail division of Nutrien, the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services. The Digital team is revolutionizing the Ag industry with cutting edge technology. The team is comprised of developers, engineers, data scientists, research experts and others who are leveraging technology to improve outcomes for the growers we serve and to put new technology into the hands of our salespeople.
The Senior Accountant will work closely and partner with Program Managers and Digital Leadership to establish and communicate cost and timeline reporting expectations as well as creating financial reports, dashboards and KPI metrics to effectively monitor the business’s financial status/progress. Your efforts will ensure effective accounting processes and information are in place, ultimately contributing to business success.
Responsible for cost analysis and reporting on the Digital business.Work directly with Program Managers and Digital Leadership to identify reporting metrics and KPIsCreate and implement financial reporting, dashboards and KPIs to track the program’s financial progressEnsure compliance with controls, requirements, policies and proceduresDevelop/maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for area of responsibilityReview all incoming invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and codingResponsible for reconciliation of invoices, accruals and budgets Ensure invoices are in accordance with contract requirements and documentsInteract with vendors regarding invoice issues and requests for detailed informationUpdate and analyze budgets and forecasts for accuracyProvide support, assist and guide the Digital team with cost managementRespond to special requests for accounting/financial information internally and externallyCompare work completed to date against forecasted scheduleMonitor job progress and potential overruns against budgetsWork closely with Leaders on budgets – actual vs. cost to completeUpdate financial/operational reporting and budget preparationPrepare and enter journal entries to make necessary corrections, allocations and reclassificationsAssist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clientsAttend Digital meetings and collaborate with the project teamOther duties as assigned

BA/BS in Accounting3 -5 or more years of Accounting experienceExperience in financial analysis budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning Experience creating and implementing reports and procedures
