Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Operations, the Plant Manager will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of a strategic manufacturing site located in Mississippi. The location manufactures agricultural chemical products for a fortune 500 company and employs approximately 80 people. The Plant Manager is a thoughtful, driven and disciplined professional who has the experience and capabilities to identify, develop and implement leading practices, develop and mentor plant employees, and deliver on value for the business.
 
Key Tasks:
  • Lead the safe and efficient manufacturing operation of a batch chemical processing and packaging plant
  • Build upon and continually improve a culture of Safety, Health, and Environmental excellence
  • Develop and lead the improvement strategy for the plant in the operational excellence areas of SHE, Quality, Productivity, People and Community
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators are developed and in place to measure performance of the improvement strategy
  • Ensure resources are in place to support the execution of the strategy
  • Continually develop plant employees to support operational excellence and discipline
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years in chemical manufacturing leadership and 5+ years managing chemical plants;
  • Engineering or Chemistry degree from an accredited university;
  • Firmly grasp process safety management (PSM) practices and principles along with leading employee safety culture to world class performance;
  • Demonstrated competency in managing a reliability/maintenance program that delivers high on-stream time production;
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing operating cost management and P/L impact to Cost of Goods Sold.
  • Experience managing labor unions;
  • Warehouse operations management and packaging systems;
  • Familiarity with EPA permitting standards and operations expectations;
  • Experience with SAP manufacturing systems;
  • Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus
  • International experience is a plus
