Happy Holidays from AgCareers.com

Season’s Greetings from the entire AgCareers.com team. This year marked AgCareers.com’s 15-year anniversary, and we’re proud to be celebrating our success with all of you!

Throughout our 15 years, we’ve collected and shared helpful information for both employers and job seekers. In celebration of 15 years, AgCareers.com has been conducting a poll each month of 2012. Results will be compiled and presented on the site in early 2013. We’ve awarded one lucky respondent with an iPad each quarter! There is still time for you to get in on our last poll of 2012! AgCareers.com also created 15 year well wishes videos that you can view on our YouTube channel.

The AgCareers.com website and resume database experienced enhancements in 2012 to make it more efficient and user-friendly. We are working on enhancing the job seeker experience in 2013 with exciting features- coming soon!

Early in 2012, we released the 2011 Agribusiness Job Outlook Report for both the U.S. and Canada which reviewed the agricultural job market in 2011 to enhance planning for 2012. We will soon begin analyzing the past year’s results to create the 2012 report.

AgCareers.com hosted an Effective Compensation Strategies workshop in February in Guelph, Ontario. More than 25 HR professionals attended the event, taking away valuable information on incentive and compensation plans.

AgCareers.com announced their collaboration with the National FFA Organization in June to offer valuable career tools and resources through the Agricultural Career Network (AgCN).

The AgCareers.com international reach has expanded over the past year. In July, AgCareers.com attended the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Conference in Shanghai, China. View our informational video about The China Factor.

In August, AgCareers.com held our 10th Annual Ag & Food HR Roundtable at Tyson Foods’ headquarters. The event was attended by more than 160 professionals from different agricultural organizations, businesses, colleges and universities. In honor of our 10th Roundtable, AgCareers.com donated $10 from each participant’s registration fee to hunger relief.

In September, we published our 6th annual Ag & Food Employer Guide in the U.S. and our 5th annual edition for Canada. Distribution of the guide keeps growing; the guide helps students and professional job seekers identify the top businesses in our industry and provide candidates with helpful career tips.

Our Compensation Benchmark Review and Agribusiness HR Review have continued to expand with the addition of more participating companies supplying valuable data. In December, we released the 2012-2013 Agribusiness HR Review for the U.S. and Canada, free for download. This report provides market knowledge, data and trends in agribusiness human resource practices for 2012-2013. AgCareers.com also collaborated and conducted market research for organizations such as the National Pork Board andFacilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education (FCAE).

We hosted a variety of educational events in addition to our annual Roundtable, including online webinars on diverse topics. The AgCareers.com Collegiate Ambassador program began its ninth year employing nine collegiate ambassadors at colleges and universities across the United States and in Canada for the 2012-2013 school year. For the first time, ambassadors are employed at 2-year institutions as well. Including this year’s group, we’ve had 53 different students work for AgCareers.com as Ambassadors – at 49 different schools!
