Founded in 1982, Neogen Corporation (NASDAQ: NEOG) has grown to more than 1,300 employees in multiple U.S. and international locations, and a worldwide presence. Neogen’s Food Safety Division markets dehydrated culture media, and diagnostic test kits to detect foodborne bacteria, mycotoxins and other natural toxins, genetic modifications, food allergens, drug residues, plant diseases and sanitation concerns. The company’s Lansing-based Acumedia and England-based Lab M subsidiaries produce superior dehydrated culture media for various applications in food safety and traditional culture media markets. Neogen’s Scotland-based Neogen Europe subsidiary serves the European Union food safety testing market through the distribution of Neogen’s comprehensive line of food safety tests, as well as its own expanding line of plant disease diagnostics. Neogen’s Animal Safety Division also markets diagnostic products, as well as veterinary instruments, veterinary pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, disinfectants, and rodenticides. Many of Neogen’s Animal Safety products are aimed at Food Safety inside the farm gate, including a complete line of biosecurity solutions for producers and processors of animal protein. Neogen’s GeneSeek and Igenity genomics operations in Lincoln, Neb., is the largest commercial genomics laboratory in the world, and satellite GeneSeek operations in Scotland and Brazil extend Neogen’s reach into critically important agricultural areas of the world. Neogen’s animal genomics businesses provide value-added services to leading agricultural genetics providers, large national cattle associations, companion animal breed registries, university researchers, and numerous commercial cattle producers. Neogen’s Hacco subsidiary in Wisconsin is home to the company’s R&D and EPA-licensed manufacturing operations for rodenticides, cleaners and disinfectants; its Iowa-based Chem-Tech subsidiary is a manufacturer of insecticides for the animal and food industries; and its North Carolina-based Prima Tech subsidiary is a veterinary instrument company manufacturing operation that is an important supplier of unique veterinary instruments. Internationally, Neogen also has locations in China, Brazil and Mexico. The primary role of these locations is to extend the global reach of Neogen’s food safety, animal safety, and animal genomics products and services.
