Position: Tenure Track - High School Agriculture Teacher- coaching and sponsorships available: Asst. Basketball, Asst. Football, Asst. Baseball and Asst. Women's Basketball.
The candidate will teach courses in PSAA, Ag. Business, Horticulture, and Intro. to CEFS. Candidates will also co-sponsor our FFA program and work with our Land Lab, Greenhouse & Aqua Culture Lab. Special consideration will be given to candidates, who possess expertise in technology, differentiated instruction, and interdisciplinary work. Experience or interest in professional development activities is preferred. Talented and organized education leaders with exceptional people skills are encouraged to apply.
Candidate must be certified to teach Agriculture at the high school level. We already have a very well established agriculture program. This would be the perfect opportunity to become a part of a winning tradition.
Salary will be commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience as determined by a competitive salary schedule. Employees of Unity High School will qualify for tuition reimbursement at the University of their choice and will take part in an extensive new employee mentoring program. This is a full time teaching position and an extended 10-month contract.
Unity High School is an exemplary secondary school of 545 students located approximately 8 miles south of the University of Illinois Campus. Unity is a progressive learning community with students from 5 different rural communities making up its student body. The Unit #7 School district has recently completed 21 million dollars of new construction, completing two elementary attendance centers and a Junior High School. Between the Junior High School and High School sits a state of the art Athletic Complex.
