Role Overview
The SAP S/4HANA Global Testing Director is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive testing strategy, governance, management, and execution of large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives. This position demands deep expertise in enterprise testing methodologies, familiarity with complex SAP environments, proficiency in automation tools, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across global settings. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience with SAP modules (including ECC and S/4HANA), demonstrate strong skills in developing test strategies, exhibit effective team leadership, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards supporting both business operations and digital platform requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Global Testing Strategy & Governance:
Define and implement a global and scalable testing strategy aligned with SAP S/4HANA transformation goals
Establish testing standards, methodologies, and best practices
Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and quality requirements
Test Planning & Execution:
Develop and oversee test plans, cases, and scripts for functional, regression, performance, System Integration (SIT), and User Acceptance (UAT)
Ensure end-to-end testing planning, execution and coverage including defect triage and issue resolution with system integrators and legacy/boundary systems
Manage test cycles across multiple SAP modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, etc.)
Monitor and report progress and results of testing activities, including test coverage, effort, and test KPI’s.
Automation & Performance Optimization:
Define and execute a comprehensive test automation strategy leveraging industry-standard tools
Leverage automation tools for test execution, defect tracking, and reporting
Optimize test processes to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and accelerate deployments
Ensure robust performance testing and system scalability validation
Establish reusable automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines
Stakeholder Management andCross-Partner Testing Collaboration:
Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, SAP consultants, and external vendors
Align testing strategies with business objectives and system requirements
Provide clear reporting on test progress, defects, risks, and mitigation strategies
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor global test teams, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement
Manage onshore/offshore testing resources and external partners
Drive alignment, transparency, and accountability throughout complex, multi-organization delivery programs
Implement metrics-driven governance and reporting dashboards to track quality KPIs
Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
12+ years in software testing/quality assurance, with at least 5 years in SAP S/4HANA projects
Proven track record of leading large-scale global SAP testing initiatives
Experience in SAP modules (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.)
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in SAP and non-SAP testing tools (JIRA, SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis Tosca, HP ALM, etc.)
Strong experience in creating comprehensive Test strategies, plans, test scenario, and test case management frameworks for SAP transformation projects
Knowledge of test automation, performance testing, and security testing
Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
Strategic thinking with problem-solving capabilities
Ability to manage global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
SAP certification in S/4HANA or testing-related domains
Experience with cloud-based SAP deployments (SAP RISE, AWS, Azure)
Knowledge of industry-specific compliance requirements (GxP, SOX, GDPR, etc.)
Experience in leading cross functional teams and ability to adjust to changing requirements, new tools, technologies, and methodologies in a fast-paced environment
Excellent Interpersonal, Communication Skills and stake holder management
Compensation Package: $165,000.00 - $220,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility + Long Term Incentive eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
