The Opportunity:
As a member of the facility's FSQA team, the HAACP Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, ongoing review, and continuous improvement of the documented quality assurance and food safety programs such as; Food Safety Enhancement Program (FSEP), Prerequisite Programs, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans, and Standard Operating Food Safety Procedures.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Responsible for HACCP maintenance, ongoing HACCP reassessment, monitoring, and verification.
- Identify any Food Safety and HACCP-related Work Requests generating from Interior Premises Audits, Sanitation Monitoring, Pre-op inspections, 3rd Party audits, or any Food Safety failures.
- Assist and accompany CFIA inspectors during performance of their CVS tasks and Risk Based sampling.
- Update SOPs and forms from HACCP reassessments, program changes, etc. as necessary
- Conduct monthly audits to verify compliance with FSEP pre-requisites bullets and HACCP.
- Assemble and lead annual HACCP reassessment team.
- Conduct pre-requisite program reassessment and audit.
- Prepare and support various Audits including BRC recertification, internal audits, etc..
- Perform record verification & CCP operator competence verification.
- Perform allergen verification and label review.
- Conduct any process Lethality testing.
- Conduct CCP and prerequisite training.
- Provide back-up support to FSQA Technicians, Coordinators and/or Supervisor.
- Provide back-up to FSQA Manager for Product Development Process (PDP) FS risk assessment.
What You ll Bring:
- University degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years food related experience in areas of GMP and HACCP principles and programs.
- Must have in-depth HACCP experience including program development, implementation of programs and auditing of the program.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to effectively communicate to all levels of internal and external organizations.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Superior systems skills (including MS Office).
