Job Description:

The Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator is a vital role in building and maintaining a strong connection between LARA and the community. This position is responsible for developing engaging content, managing brand identity and promoting the organization through various media channels. The role helps ensure that LARA's messaging aligns with the needs and interests of the community we serve.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Outreach

  • Lead development of communication outreach strategies, building the organizations public profile and awareness.
  • Create and maintain effective communication materials, including newsletters, factsheets, and other engaging educational material.
  • Foster relationships between the community and the organizations.

Marketing and Social Media

  • Implement marketing and social media strategies, including content creations, scheduling posts, responding to inquiries and managing day-to-day activities across social media platforms.
  • Collaborate on website content development and updates.
  • Build and promote the organization's branding.

Organizational Support and Team Contribution

  • Boost organizational visibility and brand presence while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and cross-departmental initiatives to drive overall success.
  • Support a flexible, team-oriented culture by offering assistance to colleagues in other departments as needed.
     

Education requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business or a related field considered an asset.
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada (i.e. Canadian Citizen, Canadian permanent resident, or have an existing work visa with no work restrictions).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with acceptable driver's abstract.
     

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comfortable suing Microsoft Office, Canva, GIS tools and other tech platforms to support daily tasks and creative projects.
  • Familiarity with updating and maintaining websites (web content edits, formatting etc.).
  • Experience or ability to learn Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to help track relationships and support outreach efforts.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn quickly and navigate new software and digital tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities paired with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Detail-oriented and accountable, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
