SUMMARY The SWS Feed Sales Representative will work as a technical sales expert within a designated region; providing consulting and support to area farms, dairies, feedlots and ranches. The primary sales emphasis will be on feeds and minerals. Additional sales will include animal health products, livestock handling equipment, and fencing supplies. Create and develop new relationships with potential clients; and provide sales, planning and delivery of large quantities of product to customers. This position requires a high level of collaboration with other members of the Simplot Team and those in the communities in which he/she will be selling. This position will provide mentoring, goal setting strategies, and coaching of lower level Sales staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor, train, and aid in the development of sales strategies of lower level Sales Representatives.Work with the Sales Manager and General Manager on developing marketing plans and pricing strategies.Work with the Sales Manager and Senior level Sales Representatives to develop marketing plans and pricing strategies.Collaborate with the General Manager and Sales Manager, to increase knowledge, develop sales, marketing, manage customer relationships and increase profits in the Sales Area.Ensure adequate follow-through in regards to operational aspects of the business such as appropriately handling the delivery and billing of products.Market products to customers by initiating sales calls; provide advice and consultative services; and monitor individualized dairy programs in respect to use and needs of animal health, nutrition, specialty, technology and other related areas.Provide consulting advice to dairy and beef customers.Collaborate with Senior Sales Representatives, as directed by Sales Manager and General Manager, to increase knowledge, develop sales, marketing, manage customer relationships and increase profits in the Sales Area. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityBachelors Degree in Animal Health or related field is preferred. 5 plus years of experience working with feedlots, dairies, farms and ranches. Must possess prior demonstrated marketing and Sales experience within the livestock industry with an in-depth knowledge of animal health and nutrition. Vet Tech training preferred. Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must have ability to organize time and work in unusual conditions and in adverse weather. Strong computer skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to consult, train and mentor individuals at varying levels. Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
