We currently have an Operations/Continuous Improvement Internship open at our North American Food Group Potato Plant, located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This Internship opportunity is designed to provide a realistic job preview and lay the solid foundation necessary for a future career within Simplot. As part of the plant operations team, you will participate in and may coordinate continuous improvement and processing activities in the facility on each shift to improve the production of finished products at target specifications, in a food safe environment, to maximize operational efficiencies and meet productivity goals, all while ensuring the safety of all employees. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: § Adherence to Safety and GMP requirements. § Comply with Quality and Food Safety requirements. § Understand Production Demands, Plans and product specifications o Tracking, monitoring and gathering data regarding KPI's: § Safety § Quality § Cost § Delivery § Exposure to key leadership competencies in the work place: o Ensure accountability o Manage complexity, Ambiguity & Conflict o Business insights & Financial Acumen o Collaboration & Communicates effectively o Decision Quality o Value Differences o Customer focus o Plans and align § Opportunity to be involved in: o Productivity Teams: Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement activities o Data collection and manipulation o Process and Equipment capability analysis o Work with Maintenance and Operations Team on equipment trouble shooting and equipment setup EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: § Currently enrolled or a recent graduate, from a nationally accredited educational facility/university. § Capable of working full time, shift work, and weekends. § Strong mathematical, verbal and written communications skills. § Leadership, Coaching, Participative Management style § Ability to manage Individual and Team Performance to goals, § Planning, Organizing, and Self-Directed Be able to work 12 consecutive weeks during the months of May through August 2019.
