Apply to this position is a leading provider of innovative information products and services for the global agriculture and food industries.   We are looking for a customer-focused individual to join our team in our Contact Centre, as a Customer Care Representative in a permanent part-time position (30 hours per week).

The Customer Care Representative provides vital support to a variety of different business units within the group of companies.  The Customer Care Representative assists these business units by contributing to quality customer service, introducing special offers to existing and potential new customers, influencing the success of the business unit’s by assisting them to meet business targets and goals.  Our “products” are predominantly technology related and online (many of them are free, such as newsletter subscriptions, classified ad postings, etc.)

In addition to online classified ads, we also assist our farm clients with their free classified ads in Ag Buyer's Guide and Better Farming Magazine.


The Customer Care Representative will be expected to meet daily outbound call targets, while being able to provide high-quality inbound customer service. The Customer Care Representative will need to communicate with customers via the phone and email.  You will be required to answer inquiries and solve problems; the Customer Care Representative will utilize a high degree of professionalism when interacting with customers.  The successful candidate must possess extraordinary customer service skills, prior experience in a contact center environment, superior attention to detail, ability to relate/empathize with clients, and the ability to maintain a positive outlook.


Your multi-tasking abilities will require utilizing computer systems to access customer accounts, research/view available options for the customer, and enter new information.  You will be using multiple systems.

  • Communicate via inbound and outbound calls and emails with farmers and agri-businesses professionals
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide prompt resolution
  • Accurately document and update customer accounts
  • Cross-sell services to customers
  • Promoting our brand awareness through positive phone and email interaction



  • Strong “active” listening skills are a must to be able to determine which business unit and/or product the client needs assistance with
  • Excellent English-language verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Microsoft Office experience and experience with MS Excel
  • 1 – 3 years prior experience in a call center or customer service environment


Working Conditions:

This position is based in our Guelph, Ontario, office.  The Customer Care Representative will work Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for a total of 30 hours per week.
