Kansas Livestock Foundation awards 35 scholarships to Kansas students studying agriculture fields, recognizing dedication, academic goals, and community involvement through support from industry partners and long-standing scholarship programs.

The Kansas Livestock Foundation recognizes 35 students for the 2025–26 school year during the Kansas Livestock Association Convention in Manhattan. A total of $39,500 in scholarships supports students who study agriculture or related fields. These awards help future leaders build strong careers in the livestock and farming industry.

Sadie Marchiano of Fort Scott receives the $1,500 Cartridges for Cash Scholarship through Merck Animal Health and KLF. She studies veterinary medicine at Kansas State University and plans to become a large animal veterinarian. Seven other Kansas State students each receive a $1,000 Cartridges for Cash Scholarship.

These students study areas such as animal science, feed and pet food science, agricultural business, and agricultural sales. The CFC program is funded by Merck’s donation for every used Ralgro wheel and Revalor cartridge turned into KLA members.

Kami Whipple from Finney County receives an additional $1,000 CFC award after her county turns in the most cartridges in 2024. She studies agricultural business and marketing at Fort Hays State University.

Two students, Nissa Olsen and Paige Soper, earn Equity Bank Scholarships worth $2,500 each. Both attend Kansas State University and major in animal sciences and industry. Two Doug Laue Memorial Scholarships are awarded to Luke Bates and Payton Walk, who study agriculture at K-State.

The Scott Johnson and Family Scholarship go to Rylie Meinhardt, a Kansas State student majoring in animal sciences and industry. Another $1,000 Glenn and Glyde Lindstrom Scholarship is awarded to Isom Marston, who studies agriculture at Hutchinson Community College.

Additional awards support students majoring in pre-veterinary medicine, agricultural business, agricultural communications, global food systems leadership, and other agriculture pathways. Partners such as Grass & Grain, GoBob America’s Ranch Equipment, Hampel Oil, Rally House, and Kansas Cattlewomen help fund multiple scholarships.

Seven students also receive Youth in Agriculture Scholarships through proceeds from the KLF Club Calf Sale. These awards support students attending Kansas junior or senior colleges.

KLF, founded in 1983, continues to support agricultural education, while KLA represents the state’s livestock industry through policy, advocacy, and member programs.
