Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) honors Claudine Arndt with a Dedicated Service to Farmers Union award during its awards program held on November 22. This recognition highlights her strong commitment to Minnesota’s farming community and her long record of service within the organization.
Arndt is the former Minnesota Cooks and Membership Director for MFU. For 15 years, she helps tell the stories of farmers, chefs, and local food partners through the Minnesota Cooks calendar. She also serves as co-author of the book, “The Farmer and the Chef. Farm Fresh Minnesota Recipes and Stories,” which shares farm-to-table experiences from across the state. Although she left MFU earlier this year, she continues to stay active as a member and supporter.
MFU President Gary Wertish recognizes her impact, saying, “Claudine is an advocate for family farmers, both through her work in local foods with Minnesota Cooks and through her work leading the MFU membership team. Through her dedication and outreach, MFU experienced membership growth and a resurgence in membership involvement.”
Arndt expresses appreciation for her time with MFU, stating, “It has been an honor being part of the team at Minnesota Farmers Union and working to help build a strong local foods system and uplift farmers throughout Minnesota. I believe in the mission of MFU and the power of people working together, and I will always treasure my Farmers Union community.”
Her recognition takes place during the 84th annual Minnesota Farmers Union State Convention, held November 21–23 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Minneapolis Northeast.
The Minnesota Farmers Union continues its mission to support family farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. As a nonprofit membership-based group open to everyone, MFU works to strengthen the economic well-being and quality of life in rural Minnesota.
Arndt’s service, leadership, and continued involvement show her lasting commitment to supporting farmers and local foods across the state.
