Research Agronomist at Seed Research Farm

Position’s Primary Purpose:

Provide assistance to Farm Manager, with all requirements of field management, planting, harvest, records, & budget planning.



  • Follow and update field management plan as directed by Manager.
  • Perform timely application of chemicals, fertilizers, treatments according to procedures and protocols at DLF PICKSEED USA research locations (Philomath, OR. and rented land).
  • Must maintain current chemical applicators license.  Use and maintain personal protective safety equipment as re-quired.
  • Ensure and per-form timely soil preparation for new nurseries, trials and assist in seed harvest, seed cleaning and planting.
  • Manage maintenance of all equipment. 
  • Comply with all state regulations, federal regulations, compliance standards and company policies and procedures.


Previous Experience:

12 months experience working an active farm.



Associate degree or equivalent experience working on a research farm.


Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Chemicals, fertilizers, mechanics, equipment for use on a research farm and work environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good critical thinking and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, etc.) Analytical and Math skills and ability to collect, organize, and report on in-formation with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
