You Will Be Part of a Growing Team
The ESCA South Testing Lead is responsible for the day-to-day execution and management of product testing efforts in the region assigned and serves as the liaison between all process leads, IMPACT and Evaluation Zone Leads at the regional level and serves as the overall key contact for the research center in Lusaka, Zambia. This individual ensures safe, effective and efficient management of testing processes at the local level and assigned regional level and plans for Research resources (manpower, machinery, equipment and tools and facilities) needed to produce high quality data, product registration submissions and on-time field operations.

Your Challenge:
  • Manage and accountable for regional product testing, ensuring on-time completions to meet research and business needs.
  • Plan, organize, and direct product testing efforts in conjunction with IMPACT and Evaluation Zone leads to ensure the most effective use of assets while meeting research/business objectives; may include, but not limited to the management of:  personnel, equipment, facility and land use.
  • Manage research testing activities though collaboration with colleagues and subordinate staff that have full accountabilities for their respective area(s).
  • Coordinate meetings for assigned testing regions by developing agendas, schedules, and ensuring appropriate follow-ups.
  • Effective management of land cooperators and offsite storage.
  • Ensure Regulatory compliance and Quality Management System implementation.
  • Meet with employees and colleagues individually to stay abreast of business issues, workload levels, and employee concerns).
  • Participate in assigned field activities across ESCA as determined IMPACT and Evaluation Zone Lead.



To Grow What Matters, You Will Need 
  • Minimum B Degree qualification, MSc in plant breeding or agricultural related field is preferred.
  • 5 years minimum experience in conducting research field trials at a senior level.
  • Experience in the seed industry required. Experience in ESCA Maize related research preferred.
  • Knowledge of maize crop agronomy and key maize crop production challenges essential.
  • Experience in product advancement and registration preferred
  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Strong leader with solid work ethic and passion for agriculture.
