Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Associate located in the greater Des Moines, IA area. The Senior Research Associate will be part of the Trait Lead Development (TLD) team providing support to herbicide tolerance lead validation, optimization and advancement from discovery to commercial track event production in support of trait enablement.

The candidate should have a solid understanding of the basic principles of molecular biology, plant physiology and biochemistry. The successful applicant will be able to apply up-to-date methodologies and assay systems to phenotyping, physiological assay, DNA and protein related research projects. Experience in Weed Science is a plus.



  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments using molecular biology and biochemical techniques
  • Manage experiments in controlled environment and carry out various phenotyping and physiological analysis tasks
  • Plan, design and conduct experiments to completion with the ability to troubleshoot independently
  • Record, organize, analyze data and present research results
  • Coordinate experiments with other team members to achieve overall project goals in a timely fashion


MS in Plant Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with at least 2 or more years of industry related experience preferred. 

The candidate should be project-focused, detail-oriented, well organized and timeline sensitive, with proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 

Strong oral and written communication skills, good data record-keeping and analysis are essential. 

Continuous training will be required in order to obtain new skills needed for utilization of new technologies and to stay current with changes in the industry.
