The Equipment & Craft Efficiency/Effectiveness Subject Matter Expert (SME) has direct accountability and is the driver for improvement in flaking and cracking unit maintenance & operations as well as maintenance craft people efficiency and effectiveness. This position will assess operational and maintenance equipment needs, advise local teams on the best course of action and help develop and execute strategies to improve flaking & cracking performance This position will also assess craft person's efficiency & effectiveness advise on improvement plans & support execution for improvements. For the flaking & cracking operations, this includes the maintenance manual, preventive maintenance procedures, full face and roll-end grinding procedures, cleaning procedures, and site best practice audits. For the craft efficiency & effectiveness, this includes improvements in planning, scheduling, work coordination and use of craft precision technical skills. This position will train operators, maintenance crafts, and management in these areas in order to improve oil yield and overall site maintenance efficiency & effectiveness.
The position will align standard work procedures with operational excellence standards across all crushing plants and grain port facilities in North America. This position will work with each location to achieve white flake fat goals, improved craft wrench time goals as well as goals to reduce rework.
35% Work with 16+ facilities to assess Flaker and Cracker equipment performance. Evaluate and formulate operating & maintenance practices. Advise sites on the development of actions to improve each site's Flaker & Cracker performance to achieve best practice white flake fats.
35% Work with 24 facilities in the crush and grain port facilities to assess craft efficiency and craft effectiveness related to best practices of planning, scheduling, work coordination and use of precision craft skills such as alignment, torque and belt tension. Advise sites on the development of actions to improve each site's craft efficiency & effectiveness best practice goals.
10% Independently train each of the locations on Flaker & Cracker operating and maintenance procedures as well as training plans on work management and precision skills processes.
10% Work with the Oilseeds World Wide Manufacturing Technology Leaders (MTL) & CASCNA M&R Lead to develop standard work for Cracker & Flaker work as well as Craft efficiency & effectiveness work.
5% Evaluate and implement Flaker and Cracker fire and smolder reduction measures at locations.
5% Work with crush sites on capital plans related to Flaker & Cracker expansions.
Degree in mechanical or similar engineering?discipline with five years of experience in maintenance and reliability or?a minimum of seven years of experience working in equipment reliability or operations with completion of secondary level education.
Functional expertise on the maintenance and operation of Flaking and Cracking Mills or similar unit operations.
Functional expertise related to craft efficiency & effectiveness improvements such as planning, scheduling, wrench time improvements.
Functional expertise related to craft skills improvements such as alignments, torque, balance and other best practice installation standards.
Experience evaluating current operational and maintenance states and then developing and implementing strategies to reach desired improvements.
Experience developing and managing good working relationships with internal departments & plant sites.
