Unit Lead 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Unit Lead, are to:

• Foster collaboration in a flat network of autonomous entrepreneurial teams called squads;
• Support Unit and Squad’s focus on mission to deliver beneficial outcomes for all team members, customers, and stakeholders;
• Support the co-creation of value by flowing resources and expertise to support the development and delivery of the best product and customer experience;
• Inspire the development, exploration, and execution of creative ideas in rapid cycles (90 Day);
• Show up as your whole authentic self in creative mindset every day, focused on the success of all customers, stakeholders, and individuals within the team;
• Support squads needs to run daily production activities, enable them to execute daily production schedule to deliver the best product customer expertise;
• Be an escalation point for tasks and projects prioritization, problem solving continuous improvement, conflict resolution, displaying VACC behaviors and prioritizing the squad's self-organization first;
• Optimize squad members performance and development through empowerment and DSO principles \, displaying VACC behaviors, coaching, feedback, discipline;
• Sponsor onePSS experts outside of the Unit as well;
• Close connection with other Unit Leads on and off site, supporting squad members to ensure the Unit members to ensure that the unit is receiving the support/resources they need to be successful. (Unit Gotos, engineers, advisors, etc.);
• Promotes fluid talent and resource unitization within the Unit, being outcome oriented;
• Ensure Unit compliance while empowering the squads as much as possible;
• ?Models VACC behaviors; Facilitating, the co-creation of a shared vision and higher purpose that resonate with customers (V)-designing, evolving and integrating the way we work, (A); Acting as an active multiple of change, removing obstacles and connecting different part of the system;
• Helping employees develop capabilities and mindsets to thrive and foster inclusion and empowerment;
• Monitor site P&L and provide assistance to teams as they ensure balance and alignment working;
• Position entails driving a company vehicle (assigned to the individual or site/pool). This may include being required to drive greater than 8,500 business miles annually in a company supplied vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a site/pool vehicle as part of your job duties – (regardless of mileage).

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required qualifications:

• BS in agriculture, engineering disciplines, Supply Chain Management or similar degree and a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. Or High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years of applicable experience;
• Field, Quality, Planning, Distribution Logistics, Finance, Stewardship, Engineering, Enablement, HR, SSHE, IT/Automation, Strategy, Government Affairs, Legal, Sales, Local Community;
• Basic user knowledge of standard computer programs (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, tablets/smart devices);
• Valid drivers’ license (which in order to be eligible to drive a company car, your driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s risk screening for hiring drivers Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed as part of pre- employment screening);
• Ability to pass pre- employment physical;
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons or when business needs require it;
• Willingness and Ability to work multiple shifts (Days or Nights).

Preferred qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience in managing and developing teams;
• Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain;
• Experience in managing and developing teams;
• Skilled at leading, managing conflict and negotiating with cross functional Teams;
• Demonstration of courage, candor and initiative in past assignments.

Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
