Change Management Communication and External Relations 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This position is responsible for building and maintaining a positive image for our company, both internally and externally. The candidate is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with customer, community, community leader, government affairs, scientific affairs and public interest groups by the design and delivery of the site s programs and initiatives, in addition to partnering with a variety of teams to drive the site s change management process through training, leadership and organizational development initiatives.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Change Management Communication and External Relations, are: 

 

External Relations and Communications (External):

 

  • Execute external relations with key community stakeholders (civic and political leaders, public safety officials, community members and the media), including a proactive communications plan to create awareness, build relationships and establish support for the Bayer brand and the sites license to operate;
  • Coordinate interaction with the sites Community Advisory Panel, ensuring ongoing dialogue with key community influencers to discuss site community plans, issues, and concerns. Work with site leadership and the CAP facilitator and to provide comprehensive meeting topics that enhance the image of Bayer for the KC community;
  • Evaluate site Bayer Fund allocations and grant requests. Coordinate these funds with site goals and community needs. Research and meet with community leaders who qualify for grant funding;
  • Manage genuine touches Product Supply program for the site and develop opportunities for community outreach. Network with global AIM community outreach advocates;
  • Exercise independent judgment to quickly identify, define, address and/or resolve unique problems and opportunities within the external relevant stakeholders;
  • Maintain a network of internal and external conacts in external/internal communications, community leaders and stakeholders.

 

Communications (Internal):

 

  • Develop and execute Site Communications Plan in partnership with the Site Leader, the Site Leadership Team, onePSS Steering Committee, technical experts, Safety, HR, specific work units, and the various teams across the site. This communication plan will align with Corporate Communications plan to increase communication, consistency, and engagement of employees;
  • Strategic management of current tools and research new usage and new communication tools, including KC BCS intranet, BayQuest TV s, Teams Live Events, survey tools and broadcast messaging. Provide expert advice for leaders and team leaders in the utilization of various communication tools;
  • Develop and coordinate materials used for company functions and events by using internal resources and working with external agencies, as required to support one voice in the internal/external marketplace (corporate messaging, talking points, collateral).
  • Owner of and coordinator for the Kansas City Home Base Communication Strategy;
  • Participate on the Site's Emergency Operations Center as the Communication liaison to corporate Communications or, as needed, external media.

 

Change Management, Employee Relations, and Culture:

 

  • Work with Site Leadership Team to drive culture change and organizational high performance on the site in alignment with BCS goals;
  • Collaborate with Site Leadership Team to ensure team building and team dynamics are in line with business goals and assist with clarifying objectives, roles, boundaries, performance outcomes, team norms and procedures;
  • Partner with Site Leader and Human Resources to provide leadership development opportunities for the Site Leadership Team and Supervisory levels;
  • Member of the onePSS Site Steering Committee as a communication and culture liaison;
  • Active participation and leadership in the key site Inclusion & Diversity initiatives, including but not limited to the BRGs, leadership development and cultural training.

 Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Education, and/or Social Sciences and relevant experience;
  • Experience should be in the areas of communication, human resources, training, and/or organization development;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and regional and global teams;
  • Excellent interpersonal and proven leadership skills with ability to work seamlessly across all levels of the organization and employee groups;
  • Identify new areas for value creation and both define and implement with functional plans;
  • Ability to lead, influence, and facilitate teams as well as work;
  • Knowledge of corporate internal and external communication strategies;
  • Proven success in project management;
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication;
  • Ability to attend off-hours events regularly. Manufacturing experience preferred

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Education, and/or Social Sciences plus 10 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Education, and/or Social Sciences plus 8 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience should be in the areas of communication, human resources, training, and/or organization development;
  • Manufacturing experience.

 

Relocation may be offered for this role.
