Under the direction of the off-site Plant Manager, the Plant Superintendent is the leader responsible for the safety, regulatory compliance, operations, colleague development, leadership, efficiency and performance of the Campbellsville, KY feed Plant. This position leads a team of 6 full time colleagues and oversees all bulk manufacturing processes, from supply demand to shipping finished product. The Superintendent is responsible to lead directly and through others by providing direction, leadership, motivation, communication, training, coaching and discipline as needed and within site guidelines for all colleagues. It is critical for the site's success that the Plant Superintendent successfully collaborate with peers on-site and beyond to deliver safe results.
The site operates 1 shift Mon-Fri 7A-3:30P with occasional overtime and weekends as needed to support business needs.
Work Duties and Required Skills
The Plant Superintendent is responsible for ensuring full compliance and participation for all colleagues in standardized programs relating to human safety, feed & food safety, quality, environmental standards, and Performance Excellence (CI). They are responsible for all location outcomes, attaining plant and division goals.
Leads the Operation of the Plant to Maintain Personnel and Process Safety:
Oversees both salaried and hourly positions within the org structure
Maintains an environment in which personal safety is the top priority, partnering with EH&S Manager to drive compliance with all safety initiatives and programs
Ensures the team works safely and the department maintains compliance with all health and safety regulations
Ensures the operation of the site is carried out in accordance with all regulatory permits, laws, regulations, and best practices
Guarantee all supplies, materials and services needed are provided for all production and operational needs, without overstocking
Aligns department goals with plant goals and communicates the direction and priorities to the department, leveraging a structured management system
Demonstrates ADM Core Values in decision-making and actions
Collaborates with work groups across the organization to develop a strategic vision for the department, putting it into action through the department's deployment plan
Supports the Quality and Food Safety Management Systems, possibly also fulfilling an additional formal role as a member of the site's Food Safety Team
Direct work, conduct performance appraisals, reward and/or discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems. Ensure that all shift members are trained properly and maintain daily
Ensures the facility maintains profitability and utilizes financial resources responsibly, within the guidelines and expectations defined
Collaborates with Sales team to maintain clear expectations in regard to customer service, product availability, and market growth
Acts as a key stakeholder to the plant leadership team
Models the way of the Performance Excellence Journey:
Leads and Coaches the team to leverage continuous improvement tools to achieve department and plant KPI's
Conducts Daily Review and Response (DRR) and works closely with the Plant manager and steering team to adjust and adapt, escalating situations when appropriate
Ensures that deviations from KPIs and incidents are driven to Root Cause elimination by team
Demonstrate commitment to improving safety, processes and efficiency of the plant by delivering the department deployment plan in both 'what' (metrics) and 'how' (means).
Work in collaboration with Centers of Excellence (CoE) to improve technology and reliability of the operations.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years production and supervisory experience
Demonstrated extremely strong commitment and leadership in plant health and safety program as well as quality and food safety programs
Demonstrated ability to manage a food processing facility, employing GMP and HACCP methodologies
Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
Interpersonal skills employed include handling conflict, motivating, instructing, and training personnel in a fair, honest, and direct way
Strong mechanical aptitude, instrumentation, controls, calculations, and utility systems
Ability to achieve and track excellence using performance-driven metrics
General computer skills including experience with MS Office, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to effectively manage time for optimal results
Able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems
Possess excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks, meet deadlines, and strive for continuous improvement and high expectations of direct reports
Applicant must be able to work in all types of climates, both inside and out, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, noisy environments, heights, dusty environments, all of which require use of Personal Protective Equipment
Ability to climb stairs, access ladders, catwalks and elevated working platforms across all hours of shift working time
Job also requires some lifting, sitting and standing for long periods of time, work from heights, bending, kneeling and performing tasks requiring respirator qualification
