The Job

The plant manager is responsible for developing and overseeing manufacturing policies and programs to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products. This role plays a critical leadership role in maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Your Responsibilities

• Directs the operation of the plant facility, ensuring that all safety and environmental regulations are complied with while producing the quantity and quality of product needed.

• Develops and monitors production schedules to ensure that completed products are shipped on time and in accordance with customer expectations.

• Initiates cost improvements and production procedures to ensure that production objectives continue to be met in a safe and efficient manner.

• Coordinates and collaborates with other business stakeholders in establishing and carrying out responsibility.

• Controls the impact of operations on the environment by monitoring the quality of plant effluents and emissions. Coordinates efforts with area managers to assure a plant-wide compliance.

• Assures the safety of plant employees through the compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.

• Maintains an attitude that accidents are preventable.

• Insures that all approved safety procedures, practices and policies are followed by plant employees by providing direction to Area Managers and Production Supervisors and Leads.

• Conducts monthly Supervisor and Lead meeting.

• Assists colleagues in developing and becoming employees who are proficient at their jobs and safety-conscious by helping to identify training needs.

• Encourages subordinates to develop ideas for improvements in operations and equipment that may contribute to improved efficiency and safety.

• Reviews and approves recommendations of subordinates in matters of personnel or rate changes and participates in the formulation of company policies which affect plant employees.

• Participates in the determination of proper staffing for departments.

• Participates in the review process. Providing input as needed and approving all evaluations.

• Participates in long range planning decisions. (purchase of capital equipment, layout changes, production methods and material handling procedures)

• Supports and administers approved company policies and clearly communicates new policies and objectives to all department employees.

• Maintains an awareness of inventory levels to insure that such are maintained at established limits.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field. A technical background in chemical engineering, animal science, biotechnology, mechanics, or mechatronics is preferred.

• 5-10 years of experience as a plant manager or in a senior operational leadership role.

• Proven track record of performance and professional integrity.

• Excellent internal and external communication skills, strong command of English is preferred

• Exceptional leadership and people management skills.

• High level of analytical thinking and initiative.

• Energetic, collaborative, and team-oriented.

• Experience in the Animal Nutrition industry is highly preferred.

• Prior experience with complete feed and or extrusion operations is a strong advantage.
