National Account Manager ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is a leading manufacturing, nutrition and ingredient business offering a wide range of innovative products for the animal nutrition market. We are seeking a proven leader in account management/sales to hold the position of National Account Manager for an open sales territory that would primarily include WI, Eastern IA and IL. This position will develop and maintain relationships with strategic accounts primarily consisting of regional and national feed companies and swine, poultry and ruminant accounts in assigned territory. Sales activity will focus on uncovering and understanding individual customer goals and priorities and then positioning the appropriate ADM ANI products and services to meet those needs. Responsibilities for this position include:
Annually develop and periodically update a comprehensive territory business plan including financial targets and supporting account strategies.
Attain the established fiscal year sales and expense targets.
Identify all potential accounts within the assigned territory, develop an account profile for each and utilize these customer/prospect profiles in planning, goal setting and analyzing each account's potential.
Proactively work with product managers and technical sales staff to develop specific strategies to grow specialty Ingredient product sales within the assigned territory.
Develop close customer relationships to facilitate business opportunities between ADM and the assigned customers.
Monitor and report feed ingredient pricing in the assigned region along with other feed industry trends and competitor activities.
Work closely with assigned customer service representative to efficiently service customer needs. Delegate adequate authority for day to day customer decisions related to pricing and other support services to assigned customer service representative.
Collaborate with Tech Support, Key Account Managers, colleagues and manager as appropriate to attain customer sales targets.
Requirements for this position include:
Bachelor's degree with Ag industry knowledge, including current trends in production systems and markets and an understanding of key participants and influencers
Ability to creatively solve problems and build consensus with others for recommendations
Superior verbal and written communications, time management, and organizational skills
Effective presentation and sales skills
Computer knowledge with Microsoft Office applications
Travel 60-80% of the time
Relocation will be provided for the right candidate but preference will be given to candidates currently living within the geographical territory.
