Responsible for the overall functions of the Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Department. Also, responsible for field construction of new projects and new installations, including oversight of both ADM and contract I&E personnel on maintenance, new projects and new installations as the site signing electrical master. Must approve and manage upcoming projects, including purchase requests for the materials that will be needed. Partner with Engineering and ADM COE teams to specify all new instrumentation in the plant to keep Maintenance and Engineering Departments aligned with all I&E efforts.
Essential Job Functions
Promotes and ensures the safety of all Department personnel and site electrical contractors.
Manages Department personnel performance and handles any concerns or issues, up to and including disciplinary action if needed.
Oversees all the identification and development of training needs for the I&E group.
Partners with other Department Superintendents in order to support the plant in meeting production goals, projects and down day/reduced grind tasks.
Directs the I&E Planner and Supervisor to adjust schedules as necessary to meet production needs and in correlation with the Contractor Site Foreman.
Sets Department goals to align with Plant goals and priorities. Tracks progress towards goals and champions effort to keep them moving forward.
Analyzes instrumental and electrical processes for efficiency and effectiveness and identifies required reliability improvements.
Champions the reliability efforts through continuous improvement efforts.
Enforces compliance with established Management of Change Program.
Ensures that appropriate SOP's are developed to meet departmental and plant needs.
Attends daily production meetings as Department representative. Sets the I&E group priorities and adjust departmental work plan as needed.
Serves as a technical resource for higher-level troubleshooting needs for complex problems.
Works with local utility to coordinate annual down day work including switch, breaker and transformer testing and repairs.
May temporarily perform duties of direct reports in the event of coverage needs for emergencies, employee training, etc.
Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Registered MN Master Electrician License
3 or more years of Leadership experience
Advanced computer skills
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
In Leadership rotation and on-call as needed for unplanned events and/or emergencies

The scope of the position may have exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed.
Inside areas:
Spring / Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degrees
Fall / Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezing.
Outside areas:
Spring / Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind.
Fall / Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below. May be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow and wind.
Some manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.

Must be able to lift up to 25lbs from waist to shoulder on an occasional basis
