Job Title: Territory Sales Agronomist

As a leading provider of Agricultural Inputs and Petroleum Products in Alberta’s Capital Region we are seeking FULL TIME dynamic salespeople to join our team.
As a Territory Sales Agronomist you will work with a strong team and focus on enhancing customer relationships through
quality sales & agronomic advice as well as the development of new business and new customers.
McEwen’s has a broad network of locations including Willow Springs Head Office (Bon Accord), Fort Saskatchewan, Lamont, Smoky Lake, Thorhild, Athabasca, Westlock, Barrhead, Stony Plain, Evansburg and Leduc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist customers in sourcing proper products and services as you building strong trusted relationships with growers and supplier partners.
- Participate in company programs and seek ways to increase knowledge of company products and services.
- Proactive sales efforts, including telephone and on farm calls, of agricultural products and services.
- Proactive management of customers’ fields and crop plans including data collection and in crop season advising.
- Organizes crop seminars including management of test plots. Responsible for the training of customers and Territory Managers of new technologies as well as prescribed products and application techniques.
- Responsible for the introduction of new products and liaising with supplier representatives.
- Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the growth and expansion of company products and services. Plans and oversees the territory’s advertising and promotion activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets.
- Researches, analyzes, and monitors technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
- Endeavour to understand various Precision Ag platforms and communicate how they may benefit our farm customers
- Should be visible in their local communities and represent McEwen’s at local events.
- Assist Territory managers with inventory and product management
- Contribute to day-to-day branch operations on an as needed basis
- Be a team player and be willing to take on various roles or tasks within the team
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer candidates hold or are eligible for a CCA designation.
- Open to post-secondary education (Degree or Diploma) in Agriculture or Business or equivalent extensive practical experience.
- Open to NEW grads seeking an exciting start and career in the agriculture industry
STRUCTURE & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position Reports to the Location Territory Manager
- Will have a specific trading area to support
- Typical workday is 8AM-5PM + some seasonal additional hours
VEHICLE POLICY:
- A company truck may be made available for full time use under standard rules and limitations.
SALARY:
- Will be based on experience, knowledge and consistent with McEwen’s salary policy and ranges.
