Position Overview

Directs the rail logistics operations of The Andersons in order to meet the operational needs of The Andersonsâ owned assets while exceeding customer expectations. This position will lead a team of Logistics professionals establish goals and key performance indicators KPIs while motivating the team to deliver safe and best in class service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee logistics for all of The Andersons business units
  • Maintain competitive rail rates for all Andersonsâ locations
  • Work directly with railroads to ensure assets are provided with the highest level of service
  • Responsible for technology and third-party services and process improvements for the space including TMS solution Track and Trace Forecasting and network modeling
  • Develop and foster relationships with key railroad and railcar owner personnel
  • Provide vision and direction to the transportation team to exceed goals objectives and KPIs
  • Responsible for the leasing of 4500+ railcars including contract and rate negotiations developing policies procedures and rules for railcar maintenance
  • Support business groups with all rail related needs

  • Provides leadership and direction through Senior Managers and Managers
  • Is typically accountable for the performance and results of:
  • A large strategically important discipline in an extremely large market; or
  • Related disciplines or a medium-sized function in a large market or medium-sized market; or
  • A medium-sized discipline or department in a major region
  • Adapts and executes functional or departmental business plans and contributes to the development of functional or departmental strategies
  • Decisions are guided by functional strategies and priorities

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelorâs Degree required Masterâs Degree preferred
  • 7-10 yearsâ relevant experience required
