QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Solid agronomic skills and background
- Strong understanding plant through harvest, with strengths in Agronomy, Irrigation, Leadership
- Need to be mechanically inclined, routine maintenance, and know general repair. Arc welding skills a plus
- Self-motivated individual w/good communication, leadership, and team building skills a must

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Working Farm Manager for the Virginia Berry and Tomato producer. The primary duties require leadership with direct contact of monitoring activities of field operations during planting, irrigation, spraying, and harvesting. Need ability to lead and see the big picture, have ability of being flexible as the position and responsibilities will vary with the seasons and the needs of the operation. The candidate needs to be opened minded, desire for continued learning, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances of cropping practices that may be influenced by weather, markets, and overall supply and demand. Experience in any sector of Tomato, Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberry and Sweet Corn would be a plus. Valid driver’s license, bilingual Spanish, good communication skills with crew and owner. Organized and can keep detailed records, 3 plus years managing a crew in agriculture. Knowledge of agriculture in the berry industry Experience with pesticides, operating tractors, and other farm machinery. The farm is in a great location with several communities nearby that offer great schools for raising a family. It is also near large cities that offer great opportunities for shopping, entertainment and employment opportunities for a spouse. The farm is close to the coastline which offers great outdoor recreation opportunities including biking, beach, fishing, boating, etc. If you are a person who enjoys all four seasons this is the place to be.
