QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Mechanics schooling or 5+ years solid experience working in a shop or field setting maintaining, adjusting, and repair of large farm equipment
- Preferred to have experience of 1-2 years of additional management experience over others
- Work conditions vary from office, shop, to field in all types of weather
- Experience operating modern farm equipment as well as mechanic ability of such equipment, but also including trucks, irrigation motors, pumps, and other equipment
- Technical knowledge of GPS, auto-steer and precision farming with the skill to troubleshooting and resolving discrepancies
- Ability to develop, successfully implement and monitor an inventory control program for all shop parts, machinery, equipment and service items
- Experience with management, work orders, and completion of projects while having the ability to adapt to make critical decisions under intense pressure, specifically during periods of peak operations
- Experience with Irrigation motors, systems, and pumps is a plus
- Ability to adapt to change and growth in overall business operations and concepts

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a good Shop Manager with abilities as has been in a role of management to oversee others. This person needs to assist and support planting through harvest of 10,000+ acres of Potatoes, Sugar Beets, Barley, Alfalfa, oat and Triticale in addition to maintenance in the off season of all equipment. Requires good mechanic skills, even though farm runs mostly late model equipment. Needs experience with large modern farm machinery and have a technical mindset that is not afraid of change & growth. This person will work in a team environment, work long hours in peak season, must be dedicated, and lead by example. This is a progressive operation looking for the right person committed to long-term employment, someone to grow with the business. The position offers a flexible schedule when not in peak season of planting and harvest. This position offers advancement opportunities in pay and responsibility as the person becomes familiar with the operation. Salary will be dependent upon experience, and position provides great location for schools, family, and raising a family.
