QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Prefer AAS, but mechanic certifications will be considered and would like to see 10+ years of experience and some supervisory history
- Strong diesel and gas mechanical and maintenance background
- Able to do all day-to-day maintenance and repairs
- Experience with both ag equipment and heavy equipment as the farm has traditional farm equipment, track hoes and land leveling equipment
- Willing to operate equipment when needed
- Welding and fabrication experience is a must
- Experience ordering and maintaining inventory of parts
- Strong communication and writing skills in English are a must
- Any experience with rice farming will be a strong plus

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for an experienced Farm Mechanic to fill the role as Shop Foreman on this northern central valley California rice farm. Current manager has been on the job for 51 years and closing in on retirement. Wanting to bring in a key individual that is looking for a long-term position with the ability to eventually step into the Shop Manager role. Nice, well equipped farm shop with multiple bays and doors for multiple projects at any given time, cooled and heated for comfort. Most equipment is newer, so more maintenance than anything, major engine or electrical will go back to dealer for repair. Need someone experienced with ag equipment, and heavy equipment as well. Brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, welding and fabrication experience is required. The person in this position will be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining the inventory of parts and must be able to plan how equipment will come through the shop in the offseason as well as a prioritize during the season. Searching for a candidate familiar with reading service manuals, parts manuals and who has just good all-around mechanical aptitude. Great location with good schools and work available for a spouse. Pay will depend upon experience, stability, and references. Hiring will include background checks and follow up with references.
