QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Solid crop production background
- Good maintenance/mechanical skills
- Good farm equipment operating experience, plant to harvest preferred
- Solid crop production background and prefer experience with large late model precision equipment; GPS, Monitors, Guidance Systems experience a Plus
- Arc and Acetylene Welding skills

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Farm Mechanic for this east-central North Dakota crop producer. Searching for a good hands-on farm mechanic to do the day-to-day maintenance and repairs of pickups, tractors, combines, sprayers, semis, etc. Farm has very nice facilities and shop. Need a dedicated mechanic who is experienced in diesel and gas engine repair, need to be mechanically inclined. Need someone experienced with small engines up to large Ag equipment and heavy equipment. Brakes, transmissions, hydraulics, welding and fabrication experience is needed. Person in this position will be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining the inventory of parts and must be able to plan how equipment will come through the shop in season and off season. Searching for a candidate familiar with reading service manuals, parts manuals and who has just good all-around mechanical aptitude. When position allows, person needs to be willing to assist on the farm. Any electrical knowledge would be helpful too. When they are not in the shop, person should be willing to assist with equipment operations when needed.

Farm Mechanic: Fix/change tires -- Brakes/suspension/air bags -- Work on pre emission/ emission engines -- Troubleshoot electrical -- Service and maintain a wide range of trucks, tractors, pay loaders, vacuum trucks and skid steers -- Good record keeping -- Keep shop, equipment and grounds neat and clean and free of safety hazards -- Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies that further the business and get away from obsolete ones - Maintain cost control at all times -- Bring to the farms what you have learned in your past experiences to help maintain the farms competitive edge -- Work in a team atmosphere -- Ability to order parts needed and keep accurate inventory of parts, filters and fluids -- Tools required -- Working on compost equipment -- Welding/ fabrication -- Valid driver's license
